Celine Dion Front Act for Manila Concert LA Santos Will Conquer Music Museum in #Petmalu, His First Major Solo Concert

Dubbed as The Singing Idol, LA Santos is very vocal about the mixture of nerves and excitement he feels about his upcoming first major solo concert, #Petmalu. "“Excited po ako dahil first major solo concert ko ito, may halong kaba rin po siyempre, hindi po siguro talaga mawawala iyon. Pero siguro po ay normal lang na makaramdam ng ganoon talaga,”  he declared.

He might be one of Star Music's new hot properties, but he's still just a boy. In fact, he is currently enrolled as a Grade 11 student in the University of Sto. Tomas. Aside from Celine Dion, he mentioned in his Manila Bulletin that he hopes to also collaborate with Parokya ni Edgar, Bamboo, Gloc-9, Snoop Dogg, Harry Styles, and Bruno Mars in the future.

Petmalu will be held at the Music Museum on April 30, 8pm. Jaya, Ian Veneracion, Michael Pangilinan, Jona, Imelda Papin, Claire dela Fuente, Eva Eugenio, Boobsie Wonderland, and his sister Kanishia Santos, are among his special guests.

“Kaya sana ay abangan po nila, marami pong pasabog sa concert na ito, may production number po kami ng mga guest ko at magdu-duet kami ng sister ko na si Kanishia Santos.”  He also revealed that he can't help but be ecstatic over the decision of his sister to be part of the music industry as well.

He seems to have all the energy in the world to pursue what he wants. How does he feel about his career? “Masaya, sobra po pero hindi pa ako satisfied, paulit-ulit kong sinasabi po iyon. Ayaw ko po kasing ma-satisfy, naniniwala kasi ako na marami pang mangyayari sa career ko, kumbaga po ay umpisa pa lang ito. Kaya talagang work hard lang ang gagawin ko. Kumbaga, gusto ko pong ituloy-tuloy lang, at talagang pagsisikapan at paghihirapan ko po para maabot ko yung dreams ko.”

#Petmalu is produced by J.E.D.I. (Joed Entertainment Department Incorporated) and Dream Wings Production Inc. 2016 Aliw Award Nominee for Best Engineered Recording and UP College of Music alumnus Iean IƱigo is the musical director.

That's Entertainment alumnus Joed Serrano decided to take his chance on LA because the former now manages the latter. A concert enthusiast can easily recall that he is behind the first major concerts of Vice Ganda, Alex Gonzaga, Pokwang, Ate Gay, and Boobsie Wonderland.

“Tito Boy Abunda told me about LA, sabi niya sa akin, ‘Please look at LA’s video sa YouTube and then tignan mo, napaka-special ng batang iyan.’ So, I saw the video Tinamaan, hindi pa ako roon agad-agad na-convince.

I’m sure karamihan sa inyo alam iyan,” said the former actor.

Belladonnas are DDS: Drop Dead Sizzling

Belladonna, when typed up on a search engine, can point to two things usually, it can point you to a variety of a deadly nightshade or the belladonna lily, which is a flowering plant pleasing to the eye. An all girl group managed by the 3:16 Events and Talents Management under the leadership of Len Carillo, they exude both the aura of danger and beauty capable of bedazzling you.

The group is comprised of five girls, namely: Quinn, Phoebe, Chloe, Jazzy, Rie, and Stiff. And speaking of stiff, they were actually pretty dynamic in answering an array of questions thrown to them by the members of the press during their launch almost a week ago. They may be as young as 17 to 20 years old but they have moves that border on burlesque especially their iconic hair flip.

They're managed by the same company which launched Clique V. As part of their professional code of conduct, since the male group can be considered their "brothers", they can be friends with one another but not lovers. Like Clique V, they also train in different aspects of performance to hone their craft.

"Actually po, we're actually taking up workshops...dancing...training...singing lessons, and of course acting workshops. Kasi ano eh, kasi dapat lifelong learner po tayo di ba? You never stop learning. That's why, we hone our skills po to be at par with other artists na kilala po ngayon," said Quinn, the Belladonna member who's the daughter of Len Carillo, regarding the competitiveness of the industry.

"And siyempre po, bihira naman po sa kabataan ang binibigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon kaya kailangan po sa 'min talaga na determinado ka at may tiwala ka sa sarili mo para magawa mo po ang isang bagay," said Phoebe, another Belladonna member."

An album launch and an advocacy film project are set to happen for this girls soon this year.

K Brosas Celebrates 18 Years in Showbiz with 18K, a Powerhouse Concert

Carmela, more popularly known as K, is a multi-talented belter who has also delved into acting and hosting. This funny and spontaneous lady will celebrate a milestone this year, her 18th as an entertainer.

In 2000, their novelty song Sasakyan Kita brought her band K and the Boxers to the fore when it became a smash radio hit and appealed to the taste of the masses. This opened a lot of doors for her which include hosting stints in GMA 7's Bitoy's Funniest Videos, Extra Challenge, and Eat Bulaga. She also became a mainstay of TV series from the same network which are Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin, Darna, Marinara, and Super Twins.

In 2008, she became part of Kapamilya shows like My Girl, Idol, Maria del Barrio, and Lovers in Paris. This led to roles in Star Cinema films in 2010 onwards as well as becoming a resident judge of TV5's Talentadong Pinoy.

Presently, she is a judge in It's Showtime's Tawag ng Tanghalan, a position she has been holding for three seasons.

Guests include established artists such as the comedians Pooh and Chokoleit, Kyla the R&B Queen, Angeline Quinto Ultimate Powerbelter, Zsa Zsa Padilla the Divine Diva, Jaya the Queen of Soul, and Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez. For the first time, her daughter Crystal Brosas will join her onstage.

Kapamilya actor John Prats will direct this concert which is produced by Cornerstone Entertainment and Star Music. It will be held at the Kia Theater on April 18, 2018 8pm. Tickets can be purchased via www.ticketnet.com.ph.

Sofia Romualdez Wants to Have a Duet with KZ Tandingan of Singer 2018

Last April 12, Viva Records launched their newest recording artist in the person of Sofia Romualdez, daughter of actress turned politician Cristina Gonzales and Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez. Depending on which angle you look at her, she seems to have a strong semblance to Lauren Young, the younger sister of former Miss World Megan Young.

One of the people she wants to collaborate with is KZ Tandingan. Based on her creative musical arrangements of the songs Toxic and New Rules, which were really ear candies, I wouldn't be surprise if her singing prowess takes her to an international level. Her style and originality somewhat reminded me of Fern, who, like her, is a member of the Generation Y, the generation after millenials, or what we call Generation X. She knows how to play around with her voice so it can wrap around the noted so well that it's almost improvisational jazz with a touch of R&B..

Other local artists she look up to are Yeng Constantino and Sarah Geronimo. Her debut single, Pikit Mata, was part of the Fangirl, Fanboy soundtrack. The film stars Julian Trono and Ella Cruz.

"I can't sing something if I don't feel it," she said regarding her process as an artist. Her second single Thinking of You is about liking someone a lot so of course, it led the members of the press present to ask her some questions, especially there's a part of the song which goes like this: "Looking at you, I don't see a chance."

"Sometimes it's not about my experience. Sometimes it is about what people go through," she candidly answered.

One of her favorite compositions is Radar, which will be released in the future. It's a song she wrote when she was going through "something really bad".

Young as she is, she has quite a list of achievements to boot in terms of music. With passion as her stronghold, she aims to be a unique artist in the market. As per Sofia, "I don't really write to sell. It defeats the purpose of being an artist. Being yourself is key. It's better to sound weird than sound like every other "artist" in the market. We shouldn't be afraid to express ourselves. That's the point of being an artist after all."

The two singles she has released can be downloaded via Apple Music and Spotify.

Madness, mayhem, and murder run amok in REP’s Classic Comedy Arsenic and Old Lace

Watch outrageous murders turn into a splendidly dark comedy as REP stages Joseph Kesselring’s
Broadway hit Arsenic and Old Lace from April 6 to 29 at OnStage Theater, Greenbelt 1, Makati City.
Having grown up with a sadistic great grandfather and a delusional brother, young theater critic Mortimer Brewster, played by Nelsito Gomez, thought he was used to his crazy family. But upon discovering that his two seemingly-sweet aunts are more sinister than anyone could imagine, he must now struggle to control a quickly unraveling situation without going insane himself.

The aunts in question are elderly sisters Abby and Martha Brewster, played by Joy Virata and Jay
Valencia – Glorioso, who have taken it upon themselves to “bring peace” to lonely, widowed old men by offering rooms for rent in their home and serving them elderberry wine laced with poison. Meanwhile, Mortimer’s delusional brother Teddy, portrayed by Jeremy Domingo, gives them the muscle to—literally—cover up their crimes.

Mortimer discovers his aunts’ dark secret during a visit to announce his engagement to the love of his life Elaine (Barbara Jance). Madness soon gives way to mayhem as the missing bodies make the
neighborhood cops suspicious and his delinquent brother Jonathan (Apollo Abraham) joins the fuss in
an attempt to outrun the law himself.

Director Jamie Wilson directs the cast of this uproarious farce, including veteran Reppers Robbie
Guevara, Gabe Mercado, Steven Conde, Dingdong Rosales, and Luis Marcelo.

Having played 1,444 performances on Broadway in 1941, this classic was a favorite both in London and New York. It was popularized through the film of the same name, which starred Cary Grant and was one of the most beloved comedies from Hollywood's Golden Era.

Will Mortimer be able to ward off the cops and protect his aunts from going to prison—all while trying to hold on to his own sanity? Catch this thriller with a twist! Purchase your tickets by calling REP at 843 3570 or Ticketworld at 891 9999, or log on to www.ticketworld.com.ph.
