Spring Films Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Sunshine Family



An independent film outfit primarily owned and managed by Piolo Pascual together with Cornerstone Entertainment Head Erickson Raymundo, their offering in 2019 which also marks a decade in the business is Sunshine Family, a co-production with Film Line Pictures Productions, Ltd.


The movie is based on an award-winning Japanese film, The Hit-and-Run Family, released in 1992 and directed by Toshiyuki Mizutani. It illuminates the modern family's problems through the struggles of a husband who attempts to take apart a car which he was driving when the hit-and-run accident occurred. It is a heartwarming story that shows a how a family on the brink of dissolution can be made whole again because of an unfortunate incident.


The shooting location will be in South Korea and it will start this coming October. Film Line furst worked together with Spring Films by providing them its services for Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme. It was founded in 2000 and also produces TV programs and commercials aside from feature films.




Since the Koreans will just have a minor roles in the production, the spokesperson for Spring Films clarified there is no need to get established Korean actors.


Sunshine Family will be helmed by award-winning Korean director Kim Tai Sik, whose first feature film Driving with My Wife's Lover shown in 2007 was invited to over 30 international film festivals. The film stars award-winning actors Nonie Buencamino and Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino, child actor Marco Masa, and one of today's most promising actresses, Sue Ramirez, who was handpicked by the Korea Tourism Organization as she is the Korea Tourism Ambassadress.
