Life is short so better make the most out of it. Prepare for the unexpected. At 10 o'clock yesternight, Maro J. De Los Reyes, who was supposed to helm The One That Got Away (TOTGA) and another Kapuso teleserye (he begged off), reportedly passed away after having a heart attack while attending a party. He eventually succumbed to cardiac arrest.

This was confirmed in the source's post at the bottom of this page and his source was the director's manager June Rufino. The party was in Dipolog and he attended it with a friend.

His popular works for TV and film include Magnifico (2003), A Love Story (2007), The Unmarried Wife (2016), Someone to Watch Over Me (2016-2017), and Munting Heredera (2011).

He also served as the festival director of the Tofarm Film Festival and also directed the pilot episode of TOTGA. His good friend and collaborator Jake Tordesillas passed away last June 2017 at the age of 68. Direk Maryo turned 65 years old last October 2017.

Bagets, his 1984 youth-oriented film,  is a cult favorite.

Details of his wake to follow.
