STATION ID REVIEW: Buong Puso Para sa Kapuso

Last March 9, GMA 7 unveiled its new station ID dubbed Buong Puso Para sa Kapuso. Apart from the network's DZBB origins which can be traced back to early 1950s, another noticeable headliner in one of the first few frames is Willie Revillame, which can either be positive or negative, depending on the person who is looking at it.

One, even though Willie Revillame technically started in GMA 7 as the host of Lunch Date with Randy Santiago in the early 1980s, he didn't "come home" until almost 3 years ago, and he was mostly known being with the other networks. Even so, whenever one goes to GMA Network, like literally, it's almost impossible to not notice the long queue of people, oftentimes in colorful getups and with flowers in their hair, who are actually lining up for Wowowin, which is definitely one of the networks top-rated shows.

However, I still think that people from Eat Bulaga should've been in the first few frames, since they have been with the network for decades and people tend to remember the alpha and omega frames of a station ID usually.

It is nice that they chose to include the employees of GMA Network in the video. It would've been nicer that even though it is a station ID, name tags were placed so these equally hardworking individuals could be identified.

The sense of nostalgia was there. Since station IDs are only released once a year except for the Christmas edition, I think viewers would appreciate it more if it doesn't only contain images from their latest hit shows, but also those from decades ago that would strike a chord with older audience members like Valiente, Connie Reyes on Camera, and Aawitan Kita.

Of course, the presence of big stars Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Jessica Soho, and Regine Velasquez were highlighted in the video. The video evokes a feeling of warmth and reminds us that a channel that started small, as a radio station, might go through ups and downs, but it will stay because of the outpouring love they have as a community.
