CCP CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF GAWAD CCP PARA SA ALTERNATIBONG PELIKULA AT VIDEO



THE Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video, the longest-running independent film and video competition in Asia, celebrates 30 years of discovering and developing cinematic talents in the country.

Established in 1987, the Gawad Alternatibo annually cites the best efforts of Filipino filmmakers in four categories – Animation, Experimental, Documentary and Short Feature. The 30th edition of the film and video competition will run on August 4 to 6, 2018 at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde.

On August 4, catch the Animation Program A at 3:30pm; Documentary Program A, at 6:15pm.

Short Feature Category entries are divided into seven groups. The first three groups of the Short Feature Program will be shown on August 4, starting with Short Feature Program A at 10am; Short Feature Program B, at 12:45pm; Short Feature Program C at 9pm.

Animation Program B will be screened on August 5, 3:30pm; Documentary Program B, which will run on August 5, at 12:45pm; Experimental Program A will be on August 5,
at 6:15pm. Short Feature screening continues with Short Feature Program D on August 5, at 10am, followed by Short Feature Program E at 9pm.

Don't miss Experimental Program B, on August 6, at 12:45pm; Documentary Program C on August 6, 3:30pm. Short Feature Program F will be screened at 10am, and Short
Feature Program G at 6:15pm.

There will also be an exhibition that highlights the 30 year history of CCP Gawad Alternatibo, on view from August 3 to September 23, at the CCP Main Gallery.

The awarding and closing ceremony will be on August 6, 8:30pm, at Tanghalang Manuel Conde. Screenings of the Gawad Alternatibo films and videos is free to the public, on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Ika-30 Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video is part of the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, happening on August 3 to 12, at the CCP theaters
and Ayala Malls Cinemas. A project of the Cinemalaya Foundation, Inc. and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Established in 2005, Cinemalaya is an all-digital film festival
and competition that aims to discover, encourage and honor cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers.
