Misters of Filipinas 2018 Official Candidates Presented to the Media

The official candidates of Misters of Filipinas 2018 were formally presented to the members of the media last September 17 at the Plaza of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.

After months of online screening, casting calls and regional competitions from various franchises in the Philippines and among Filipino communities abroad, Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation Inc. (PEPPS) formally introduced the 23 official candidates of Misters of Filipinas 2017.

"It was a long search for the official candidates, but I am confident that we have a good batch this year," said PEPPS president Carlo Morris Galang.

The candidates came from all over the country in hopes of winning one of the coveted titles of the competition and becoming the next Neil Perez (Mister International 2014), Kara Singhdole (Man of the Year 2016), and Ion Perez.

The competitors are very happy that they made it to the official list of candidates. These men came from various backgrounds such as being a fitness trainer, model, and even a college professor. They will now set off on their journey for the titles that will have the winners competing in various international competitions.

Misters of Filipinas: Stronger at 6
This year's Misters of Filipinas is PEPPS 6th edition, and this year's batch proves that the pageant is going stronger.

"I wouldn't say that the entire 6 years were smooth," mentions Galang. "Like any organization, we are constantly evolving and facing challenges. But I thank God for my team because we have faced obstacles and survived if not came out victorious."

Galang pertained to different challenges that the organization faced in the 6 years since its inception. These challenges saw conflicts -- with names, previous organization members, and even the challenge of emerging victorious in PEPPS' initial advocacy of uplifting the male pageantry system in the Philippines.

Despite odds, PEPPS emerged victorious and overcame the stumbles it faced.

Galang further addressed some recent developments in the organization, some of which entailed the breakdown of a partnership, the issue on resigned Mister Universe Tourism 2018 Ion Perez, and even the change of venue of the finals for Misters of Filipinas 2018.

An iconic venue

Misters of Filipinas 2018 will have its finals on October 3 at the iconic Music Museum in San Juan City.

"People have been asking why we chose Music Museum as the finals venue," said Galang. "Actually, we want a lot of things to be different this year. We want the competition to be more intimate with our audience. Music Museum offers just that."

"Add the fact that Music Museum is celebrating their 30th year this 2018. We want to pay tribute to their contribution to the music industry in the Philippines the same way Misters of Filipinas contributed to the uplifting of male pageantry in the country," Galang further says.

The Road Leading to the Finals

The 6th Misters of Filipinas promises that the candidates will really have something worth enjoying and remembering. In a short amount of time, the candidates will be exposed to various activities that will develop skills in them.

Last September 16, the official candidates had a photoshoot for both swimwear and formal wear. They also had a series of workshops with the best in the industry such as David's Salon (for grooming), and Lyn Bentsen (for personality development). They even had runway walk coaching with the president of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines Raphael Kiefer.

The candidates will also fly to Davao which will host the pre-pageant competitions before flying back to Manila for the finals.

Misters of Filipinas is produced by Prime Events Productions Philippines Foundation Inc. along with its sponsors such as TPC Events Concept and Design, David's Salon, Resorts World Manila, Highland Bali Villas Resorts and Spa, and many more.
