7 Things That Happened to Mcoy Fundales Since Becoming a Kapuso

First off, his name is spelled with a single "c" so don't confuse it with another who is a heartthrob with 2 "c"s. It seems not too long ago, he was part of Orange and Lemons. But, that was back in 2007. See, number 7 had significance to his life as in that same year, he joined the PBB Celebrity Edition only to voluntarily exit along with Ethel Booba  prior to the finals. He formed the band Kenyo alongside JM and Ace del Mundo, meaning the band is was still kind of Orange and Lemons without Clem Castro.

When searching online, it is unclear what specific year did Mcoy ink a contract with GMA 7, but IMDB lists a 2010 Kapuso show as his first. Here are 7 wonders that entered his life since joining the network.

1. Instead of focusing on his skills as a musician, he devoted his time to writing scripts, which would eventually lead him to landing his first creative director stint in a concert, the #BoBreyinConcert starring Ken Chan and Rita Daniela from My Special Tatay

2. IMDB lists his earliest work as a Kapuso writer via Pepito Manaloto, in 2010. Yes, move along Spartans because he has been a major creative mind behind the 300 episodes of the comedy show almost a decade old aside from Bitoy. However, to clarify, he did say he was writing for 6 or 7 years on the show so it is safe to assume he joined it somewhere between 2012 and 2013.

3. He just made his comeback as a singer and dropped his latest single Bakit Kita Hahabulin under AltG Records which is a new record label not to be confused with GMA Records. The song discusses the protagonist's sense of wonder at a woman whose suitors are many and decided why he should pursue her. The song is a modern kundiman  by Kian Dionisio. It is now available for downloading and streaming on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify and other digital stores worldwide.

4. Other shows which he has writing credits for are: Dear Uge (2016), Lip Sync Battle Philippines (2016-2018), A1 Ko Sa'yo (2016), Ang Forever Ko'y Ikaw (2018), Stories for the Soul (2018-2019), and Starstuck (2019).

5. Ba't Ganon is a song he made for Family History, the directorial debut film of Michael V. aka Bitoy, whom he considers his mentor in writing aside from Ricky Lee.

6. He gets to act in the music video if his new song Bakit Kita Hahabulin.

7. Prior to this, in 2014, though it was not in any way connected to GMA 7, he collaborated with Clara Benin for a Philpop 2014 entry Kung Akin ang Langit where he did some acting for the video.

"Na-miss ko rin kumanta. My last album was in 2010 so that's almost nine years na. I'm happy and excited kasi for almost five to six years nagsusulat ako for TV, at ngayon, nagre-record na ako ulit ng mga kanta," says the singer-songwriter. One thing is for sure, we will expect the music to play on for him literally as he churns out more songs under the Kapuso network while bringing stories to life with his pen.
