Art + Science = Love/Sick at the Mind Museum

Upstart’s newest offering, Love/Sick by John Cariani, combines both art and science— much like The Mind Museum, where the show will be mounted.

The play, which the Huffington Post calls “a great date night idea,” is a series of short, bittersweet romantic plays that explore the psychology of love and relationships. So when searching for a venue partner, show director and cast member Joel Trinidad wanted an institution that appreciated not just the artistry of the piece, but the science behind it. “The show engages both the heart and the mind,” he declares. “So the Mind Museum was a perfect fit.”

Love/Sick, which opens at 8:00 pm on August 5, will feature multi-awarded pop icon Rachel Alejandro, and will be the first theatrical production mounted at the highly regarded museum, a place known for its dedication to science and the creative arts. Trinidad and Alejandro will be co-producing the show, along with some other partners from the world of theater (who will also appear in the production). “The more we learned about the Mind Museum, its philosophy and vision, the more excited we were to partner with them,’” Alejandro enthuses. “We were very fortunate that they shared our vision.”

The Mind Museum presents John Cariani’s Love/Sick, directed by Joel Trinidad. 8:00 pm on August 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, and 20 at the Mind Museum Auditorium, J.Y. Campos Park, 3rd Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Tickets at P500 each. For ticket and show buying information, contact Upstart Productions at 09178116516 or upstarttickets@gmail.com. Love/Sick is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
