Bilang isang celebrity ay di maiiwasang maungkat ang past issues, true man ito o false, lalo pa at naging maingay ang pag-amin ni Sam Milby tungkol sa kanila ni former Miss Universe Catriona Gray.
May isang netizen na nagcollage ng pics ng 3 personalities na na-link kay Sam Milby bukod kay Catriona with the caption "Sam Milby's taste though". Ito ay sina Anne Curtis, Mari Jasmine, at Piolo Pascual.
To the rescue ang isa sa close friend niya na si Richard Poon at sinabing it makes him sad dahil kakabirthday lang ni Sam. Nabanggit niya na before PBB pa sila nagkakilala at sila ang first 2 artists under Erickson Raymundo of Cornerstone Studios.
Thinrowback niya ang accusation ng isang veteran journalist noong 2007 na diumano ay nagholding hands sina Sam at Piolo that year sa Sofitel. Of course hindi yun totoo at ito ang important na part ng post ni Richard tungkol doon.
