In 2009, Rhea Anicoche-Tan decided to put up a small family business that involves selling whitening soap and lotion, facial care kits, and other bleaching items. In just a couple of years, because of her product's effectivity, they were able to get not just an FDA approval but also a Superbrands award.
Now, one of the endorsers of Beautederm is Sylvia Sanchez, and it is a mere coincidence that her son, Arjo Atayde, has been chosen by the company to become the face of their Origin Series, marking their first venture into creating scents. Arjo considers this a big blessing aside from the new TV series he's in with his mom, while shrugging of the rumors that they get hired as a "package deal". “Siguro ay nagkataon lang yun, sa TV series (Hanggang Saan), sa movie na paparating pa lang naman, at ito ngang endorsement sa BeauteDerm. Pero ang masasabi ko lang, everything is a blessings, so, you can’t really say no to all of these."
Rhea Tan, the Beautederm CEO, backed up his statement. “Ate Sylvia is from Powerhouse and for Arjo naman ay from Star Magic. Kaya’t different negotiations po talaga. And noon pa lang talaga na nag-start sa akin si Ate Sylvia, talagang sabi ko na, ‘Ate, gusto ko si Arjo, tulungan mo ako, isa-sign natin siya."
Origin comes in three different scents: Alpha (The First), a scent perfect for the casual and laid back gentlemen. With its subtle and clean smell, it’s perfect for everyday wear; Dawn (The New), the fragrance that interprets the sublime masculinity through a deep and aromatic scent with an intense,
vibrant and glowing freshness. Best suits the confident and playful man; and Radix (The Root), which is cool and crisp with a hint of earthy and natural scent. Great for both casual and professional type of man. It comes in two sizes, 30ml and 50ml.
Why Arjo Atayde and not any other celebrity?
“Ang idol ko na napakagaling, kasi ang market po ng Origin perfume ay different personalities and different scents. Si Arjo kasi, ang embodiment ng versatility, hindi ba? Kaya niyang maging sweet, kaya niyang maging kontrabida na kinaiinisan ng lahat ng tao, puwede siyang maging lawyer at maging heartthrob, at pogi itong anak ko, matalino, smart… So dahil ang market natin ay A and B talaga, so, siya po talaga ang gusto ko na first ever ambassador ng ating perfume,” said Rhea Tan.
