Star Cinema’s opening Salvo for 2017 is a comedy/action film by Direk Chris Martinez. Topbilled by today’s dazzling Kapamilya ladies Arci Munoz, Coleen Garcia and Jessy Mendiola, Extra Service promises audience that they’re in for enjoyment.

A blogcon was held at the 9501 restaurant ELJ building with a lot of bloggers in attendance.The bloggers got the chance to ask Direk Chris some insights about the film and his craft as well.

Q: what makes a film tatak Chris Martinez? A: It has to be fun, dapat may brilyo(brilliance) and most of my themes actually talk about empowering women. Dapat may pasabog.

Q: What was the extra services you had to give as a director for this movie? A: Extra patience, extra effort...importante lahat ng yun to make sure that the movie oi of good quality. And yes, extra puyat to add to everything.

Q: Were you involved in casting the characters of the movie? A: Actually no, when the script was handed over to me, the line up is finished already.

Q: What is Carmi Martin’s participation in the movie? A: She is actually the one who assigns tasks to the main characters of this film.Bisaya siya dito sa film.Her name is Elle but of course she pronounces it as Eel.You will love her here.

Q: Can you name Pinoy actors you wish to work with in the future. A: There are a lot actually , Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz , Arjo Atayde and of course Coco Martin.

How about Pinay actresses? A: I’d love to work with Toni Gonzaga, of course Bea Alonzo too.Sharon Cuneta is one and so is Kim Chiu.

Q: what was the hardest part in shooting the movie? A: The laser scene part was particularly hard because it’s really hard to work with imaginary laser light right? But I enjoyed the psrt where we had to use a drone in this film.I consulted my director of photography for that of course.

Q: So what’s the movie about? A: The movie actually talks about friendship and the extra service is actually a code for assigned tasks for our protagonists of the film.When you watch the movie you’ll ask why.

Q: In some of the movies you directed, there are parts wherein there are portions when you had to wait after the closing credits.do we have one like that too in the film?

A: Yup, the audience have to watch out for it.

Q: Do you still experience writer’s block? And what do you do about it? A: Of course I do. I sleep.I bingewatch on Netflix. Then work on it once I’m focused once again.
