Catch the last weekend of Gian Carlo Menotti's THE MEDIUM, a music drama thriller on November 23, 24 & 25 at the Zobel de Ayala Recital Hall of Maybank Performing Arts Theater. Presented by BGC Arts Center and Musicartes.
Director Leo Rialp restages an exciting version of The Medium featuring singer-actors Lara Maigue, Joseph Nabong, Ronaldo Abarquez, Margarita Roco, Anna Migallos and Jay Valencia Glorioso with pianist Dingdong Fiel.
First presented in New York in 1947, The Medium also ran on Broadway’s Barrymore Theater. Menotti directed a “film noir” version in 1951 to reach a global audience. This rare dramatic piece is a play of ideas expressing joy, love, hope, fear, deception --- the search for truth and God.
