Soprano Joscephine Gomez to do OPM, old hits, Broadway/West End and movie themes in "The Voice of Love"



Soprano Joscephine Gomez will perform OPM, old hits, songs from the musical theatre and movie themes in "The Voice of Love" , her first solo concert with this rare program. The intimate dinner-concert will be held on Saturday, March 02 at the Quezon Hall of the Orchid Garden Suites on Vito Cruz St., Malate, Manila, beside Fo Guang Shan Temple and across Century Park Hotel. Assisted by pianist Jun Cadiz and 2nd keyboardist/synthesizer player Barry Albert Dompor, Gomez will sing "Kahit isang saglit", "La vie en rose" with Belgian singer Jean Marc Wertz, "Hymne a l'amour", "Eres tu" with mezzo-soprano Maricris Joaquin-Wertz and the Spanish classic "Historia de un amor". She will also interpret the theme from Titanic "Il mio cuore va", "Memory" from Cats , "As if we never said goodbye" from Sunset Boulevard and " Se ", the theme from the award-winning Italian film Cinema Paradiso. Gomez will also render the popular "Broken vow", "You and I", "No other love", "Autumn leaves" and "All the things you are". Baritone Fred Hawson, MD, sings "Evermore" from "Beauty and the Beast", "You're still you". He also joins Ms. Gomez in "Think of me" . Gil Vicente, MD will do "Windmills of your mind" and "The way we were". Gomez will be joined by all her guest singers in "The Voice of Love" and "Love changes everything " from "Aspects of Love". One of the country's better known singers of opera, classical music and kundiman, Gomez is the first Filipino classical singer to give solo concerts in Israel and in Brunei Darussalam and one of the first to perform in concerts in Russia. Gomez has the singular honor of representing the country in an international opera festival - the First International Festival of Music held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia in 1992. Actor Philip Tan-Gatue, M.D. narrates. Renowned TV and stage director Joey Nombres directs and designs lighting with Joseph Matheu. Ms Gomez's gown is by Jan Garcia.
