"Manila By Night" and "Brutal," both from 1980, are two of her well-known cinematic roles. She has directed four "Shake, Rattle, & Roll" films in addition to a minimum of two dozen dramas and TV series.

According to an interview with SPEED, the focus of the awards ceremony will be the tribute to film stars who have left a lasting impression on the entertainment business through their exceptional bodies of work.

Additionally, they will pay tribute to the late Carlo J. Caparas, the creator of comic strips, for his contributions to the Philippine film industry.

President Salve Asis of Pilipino Star Ngayon and Pang Masa is in charge of SPEED, a non-profit organization that was founded in 2015. It is made up of former and present entertainment editors from major tabloids, national newspapers, and internet platforms.
